A fat-soluble antioxidant that assists in cellular metabolism, providing protection from free radical damage and also assisting in cellular repair. It's found in meat and fish. Vegetable sources include broccoli and spinach. It is also found in nuts and in Sea Buckthorn oil. The antioxidant or free radical zapping properties of CoQ10 do seem to be well documented and it can reduce oxidative damage to tissues as well as significantly inhibit the oxidation of LDL cholesterol much more efficiently than vitamin E.
